Here at St. Rose of Lima, we strive to make our parish a youth friendly environment that engages young people in the active task of being disciples of Jesus Christ. Centered on the Eucharist, our youth ministry seeks to connect teens to God and to one another. Through the sacraments of the Catholic Church and the embrace of a nourished community, we hope that St. Rose can serve you and your family.

STRL Youth Ministry exists to serve our parish and local community by engaging young people in the active task of following Jesus Christ.
By strengthening families, our ministry seeks to build up the Church, the Body of Christ, by helping teens discover and grow in their relationship with God. Through youth group meetings, prayer nights, leadership opportunities, service, and Sunday Eucharist, STRL Youth Ministry exists to serve God by serving teens.
Empowered by the Word and nourished through Christ’s presence in the Eucharist, STRL Youth Ministry challenges teens to live out their faith by making a difference in the world, especially in the lives of those who are most poor and in need.
STRL 5 PM Youth Mass
The “source and summit” of our ministry’s life is the celebration of the Lord’s supper. Every Sunday teen’s and their families gather to give thanks to God around the Eucharistic table. With vibrant music, prayer, and participation, teens lead the community in worship by serving as lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, and musicians.

Life Nights
Following the 5PM Youth Mass, we continue our celebration of the Eucharist by gathering for our weekly youth group. Life nights are youth group meetings designed to build community and deepen faith through engaging discussions, prayer, and worship. LN end at 8:30 PM.
Each month STRL youth ministry offers sports nights, movie nights, Wii nights, as well as catechesis nights aimed at increasing understanding of the Catholic faith. All nights are faith based and offer young people the opportunity to share and pray.
CORE
CORE is our ministry’s team of adult ministers that lead the small group discussions during Life Nights. By mentoring, sharing, and praying with teens, CORE exists to serve the needs of our young people.
J-Squad
The J-Squad is our ministry’s peer leadership team. They meet weekly to plan opportunities for young people to participate in outside of Life Nights. Through their prayer and service, J-Squad gives witness to their faith in Christ.
STRL Music Ministry
One way in which STLR Youth Ministry seeks to engage teens in active discipleship is to invite those with gifts and talents in music to participate in our 5PM choir and band.
XLTS
XLTs are nights where teen and adult members of our local community can gather to pray and worship. Each night incorporates vibrant music led by Sergio Lopez, inspired talks by guest speakers, and an opportunity to spend some time with Jesus in the Eucharist.
Service & Social Justice
The sign of genuine faith is a concern for those who are most poor and marginalized. Twice a year, our ministry publishes a booklet of service and social justice opportunities for high school youth.
Throughout the year teens are encouraged to participate in these opportunities that will make a difference in the world
